5 Panel Solid Core Interior Doors

Doors.

They give us privacy.

They give us security.

They’re necessary for the flow and function of our spaces.

And they can also add to the style of our home.

This is what the doors looked like when we bought my parent’s 1960s house:

They were a basic, builder-grade hollow core flat style door.

Definitely not very interesting but they served their purpose for 56 years!

We knew we wanted to replace them with something a little more decorative and fitting with the new style we’re going for.

We also wanted a classic interior door style that wouldn’t look outdated in a few years.

At first we looked at 3 panel doors. But we didn’t like the way the panels were so thin and flimsy.

Then we looked at other 5 panel doors. But we didn’t like the way the frames of the panels were just squared off pieces of wood.

Then we found these 5 panel solid core interior doors that were just right!

The flat panels are solid and there’s just a bit of detail on the surrounding pieces to give this painted interior door some character.

Here they are on the closet in our guest room

We did 4 of these bypass sliding closet doors for symmetry. They really look great in there!

So choose your interior doors wisely.

Make sure they reflect the style and personality of your home.

And I think you’ll be happy with them for years to come!
