How To Make A Twig Wreath

Here’s a quick, super simple way to make a twig wreath for your winter (and year-round) decor!

START WITH A PILE OF TWIGS

Gather 14 - 20 inch long twigs or small branches from your yard or neighborhood. I used eucalyptus twigs I found on the ground in my neighborhood. I love that they still have little pods on them.

USE A 12 INCH DARK METAL OR WOOD RING FOR YOUR FORM

I used a ring off of an old tomato cage. You could use an old coat hanger and form it into a circle. Or cut the outer ring off of a wreath form. You just want to make sure it blends in with your twigs.

WIRE SMALL BUNCHES OF TWIGS TO THE FORM

Use florist wire to secure the twig bunches to the ring.

HOT GLUE TWIGS IN PLACE

Hot glue twigs to each other as you make your way around the ring, wiring and gluing and covering the ends of the twigs before. Note: if you’re using a metal ring, you can’t really glue the twigs to the ring but you can glue them to each other.

AND YOU’RE DONE!

You really could use this twig wreath for all seasons:

For Valentine’s Day, you could add little paper hearts to it.

Or for Spring, you could tuck in some blossoms.

And how about adding some pheasant feathers for Fall?

Then some red or white berries for Christmas…
