Fall Decorating Ideas

Okay —

I know Fall is coming.

The only reason I know

is because

I looked at the calendar!

You see, the thing is,

in Southern California,

the weather is so consistently sunny and 70-ish year round,

there really isn’t much change in seasons around here.

So it’s pretty much impossible to tell

when one ends and another one begins.

So I have to E A S E from one season into the next.

I like to think of it as

‘Decorating Lite’.

You know, like Lite Beer,

Lite Salad Dressing

and Spam Lite (yes, I actually saw a LITE version of Spam today!)

So right now I’m thinking about ‘Fall Lite’ —

No piles of pumpkins

or vivid crimson and gold leaves

just yet…

Just kind of gradually moving into Autumn

with subtle touches

here and there.

Like a warm scarf folded up or hanging in the entry …

chunky knit pillow covers on sofas and chairs …

cozy throws on sofas, chairs, beds, ladders, ottomans …

even things from the garden can be used as decor …

These are some of the little touches

that I like to use

to subtly and gradually

get ready for Fall.

‘Cause you know it’ll be here soon —

and there’ll be piles of pumpkins

everywhere…

Even if the weather

is 80 degrees!
