Entryway Wall With Hooks

Remember Cinderella??

I think when most people think about her

They think about the ‘after’ Cinderella

So stunning in her gown and glass slippers

But think about the ‘before’ Cinderella for a minute —

If you were to look closely at her while she was scrubbing the floor

And look beyond her sooty face and raggedy clothes

You’d see that she was already beautiful!

When her Fairy Godmother got her ready for the ball

She didn’t need to give her a new face or figure

She just needed a little ornamentation

A little embellishment

Well that’s how I feel about our house…

It’s the ‘before’ Cinderella

It just needs a little embellishment

A little ornamentation

In order to be presentable

And ready for the party

Here’s our entryway wall before

Nothing interesting or stylish going on here…

And here’s our entryway now

With a board and batten accent wall topped with a pediment crown

And antique brass hooks for hanging things

Someone once said ‘you only get one chance to make a good first impression’.

Your home’s entry should set the tone for the rest of your house. It should reflect the style of your home.

And be welcoming and inviting.

And practical.

Is there a place for visitors to hang their coat and set down their purse?

Does it match the style and decor of the rest of your home?

Does it make a good first impression?

This entryway wall with hooks was pretty easy to do. It only took a few hours.

But it made a huge difference in the way our entry looks and functions.

Now it’s welcoming.

And special

And presentable

And ready for the party

I’m so happy with the way it turned out!

Now the next room of this Cinderella house needs me to wave my magic wand…
