Before And After Home Renovation
I just love a good before and after, don’t you?
There’s just something so satisfying about seeing how far you’ve come
from where you started.
And when it seems like things are moving super sloooooooww with your reno,
it helps to take a look back
and see all the progress you’ve made.
You know,
the ‘glass half full’ kind of thing…
So I’ve been looking at some before and after home renovation images
to make myself feel better
and I thought you might like to see them too.

GUEST BEDROOM
Before this room was being used as a home office.
There were cork squares glued to the wall that were painted blue/gray
And after we applied a board and batten wainscot and installed wood flooring it’s now a sanctuary space.

GUEST BATH
Before this bathroom had gray carpet, peach colored tile and the original 1960s vanity and countertop.
Now it’s like a spa with a Carrera marble wainscot, freestanding vanity with marble top and a custom framed mirror with mounted lights

But now it’s a relaxing retreat

LIVING ROOM
This is probably the most dramatic transformation.
Before, the living space was covered in dark wood paneling that was so popular in the 60s and 70s (I heard someone say the other day that this paneling is coming back in style — please, no!!).
And there was black volcanic rock on the wall that surrounded the fireplace
Now, there’s a media wall on this end of the room with beautiful cabinets

And the other end of the room had a pool table and heavy drapes
Now, it’s a completely different room with light airy drapes, wood floor, wood framed windows and crown molding

And there was wallpaper and a bar on this wall before
And now, the dark heavy bar is gone and the wallpaper is just a memory

This is the other side of the bar between the dining room and living room
It made such a huge difference when we tore all that out —
now this room is light, bright and welcoming!

LOREN’S BATH
Before, this tiny bath had no style or personality
Now it’s cute and so much more functional!

It’s now a sewing/sitting/workout space.
So there you have it!
Even though it sometime feels like things aren’t getting done,
when I look back,
I can see how much progress we’ve made
and it feels good!
